Right Side Up
I was going through some of my old poems—ones I wrote more than twenty years ago—and I came across this one. What struck me wasn’t just the words, but how familiar they still felt. I always assumed that with time I would become more steady, more sure-footed. Instead, most days still feel a bit like a tilt-a-whirl—spinning faster than I expect.
What has changed is my ability to sit back and breathe in the middle of it. Not because the ride has slowed, but because I’ve seen God meet me there again and again. The disorientation hasn’t disappeared, but the fear has loosened its grip. Grace has a way of steadying what effort never could.
This song grew out of that realization—an old poem finding new voice. Below is the original piece alongside a short clip from Right Side Up, now on Suno and YouTube. It’s a small glimpse of how God keeps turning what feels upside down into something quietly grounded in Him.
