Welcome to Starlight Circus
A Whimsical World Where Every Child Belongs
Under the magical glow of the Big Top, the Starlight Special Needs Circus is where stories shine bright, especially the ones that often go unseen. This is a place where brave animals take center stage, each with their own challenges and triumphs, helping kids better understand their own journeys, too.
The Starlight Circus began as a dream to help children with dietary needs feel seen, celebrated, and supported. The first stories focus on unique performers who live with nutritional disorders like:
Food allergies
Phenylketonuria (PKU)
Type 1 diabetes
Lactose intolerance
Through colorful illustrations, memorable characters, and gentle storytelling, each book explores how children can stay safe, be honest, and find courage—even when life asks them to walk a tightrope of tricky choices.
But that’s just the beginning. Eventually, the Starlight Circus will welcome characters with all kinds of special needs, because every child deserves a place where they are cheered for exactly who they are.
Meet Stella!
The Ballerina Bear Who Learns to Think with Care.
Stella is the sparkling star of the Starlight Circus—spinning in her tutu, strumming her banjo, and rolling across the ring with style! The crowd cheers for her every move… but even stars have something to learn.
In Stella Checking Up on Others, this talented bear discovers that it's not enough to just be prepared for herself—she also needs to be mindful of others. When a backstage accident and a surprise allergic reaction send her to the vet, Stella learns a life-saving lesson: kindness isn’t just about giving—it’s about asking, checking, and making sure everyone stays safe.
With rhyming verse, circus fun, and a gentle reminder about food allergies, this story helps kids understand:
Why it’s important to check ingredients before sharing food
How to be responsible for your own health
And how to look out for others with compassion and care
Whether your child has food allergies or is learning how to be a better friend, Stella's story shows that real star power comes from being both kind and careful.
