My story
I met Jesus in the backseat of a car. I was three years old, the radio preacher said something about being “naughty,” and I thought, “Oh no, he knows!” Because I was naughty. Brilliantly so. Sunday school chair-toppler. Tooth-chipper. Fellow toddler thumper. Creativity ran wild in me, and self-control hadn’t caught up yet.
But in that tiny moment, I understood a big truth. I didn’t just do wrong things I was lost. And Jesus? He came for kids like me. With peanut butter on their face and mischief in their hands. I chose Him that day. And every day since, He’s been choosing me right back, even when I forget, wander, or try to go it alone.
I’m not perfect. But I’m perfectly His. And that grace? It spills into my stories, my sketches, my teaching, and my living. Because I believe our best creativity springs from love, mess, and second chances.
These days, I’m an art teacher, writer, and recovering perfectionist who believes stories are sacred, even the messy ones. Especially the messy ones.
I create picture books, poems, and projects that reflect the beauty of small things, second chances, and squeaky-clean bathroom metaphors (don’t ask, actually, do ask). I believe laughter is holy, whimsy is underrated, and that God’s truth often sneaks in through the side door of imagination.
When I’m not teaching teenagers how to hold a paintbrush or a portfolio with purpose, I’m probably dreaming up a new story, doodling on napkins, or chasing meaning through metaphor. My books are made for the kids with big hearts, the parents who feel like they’re failing, and anyone who’s ever needed grace in glitter form.

My Life Verse is Phil. 4: 4-9
4Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! 5 Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. 6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
8 Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. 9 Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.
